Jim Pagett, Founder & President of The Palmstar Group, LLC, began his commercial real estate career in 1997 with Edens & Avant in Columbia, South Carolina. Over the next ten years, Jim would be responsible for leasing an assigned portfolio of shopping centers throughout the Carolinas; representing clients (especially those with 1031 needs) in the acquisition and disposition of shopping centers and other income properties; third party retail leasing; and he has spearheaded various developments and redevelopments throughout South Carolina including the Lexington Wingate by Wyndham hotel, which opened in March 2008, in Lexington, South Carolina, and a 15,000 square foot, freestanding Dollar Tree store in Columbia, South Carolina. Jim has consistently been recognized for his outstanding production by the Central Carolina Realtors Association (CCRA) and he is a lifetime member of the CCRA Circle of Excellence.
Jim holds a SCLS (Senior Certified Leasing Specialist) designation and is well known throughout the shopping center and commercial real estate industry. He currently serves as the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Carolinas State Director where is responsible for leading ICSC efforts in North Carolina and South Carolina- Jim is the first South Carolinian to hold this position; Chairman of the Central Carolina Realtors Association (CCRA)- Realtors Commercial Alliance and he is the past Chairman of the ICSC South Carolina State Government Relations Committee and past Chairman of the ICSC South Carolina State Operations Committee. As ICSC Carolinas State Director, Jim is active on the Carolinas Idea Exchange Planning Committee and has served as a member of that committee since 1999. In 2003, Jim had the privilege of serving as Chairman of the 2003 Carolinas Idea Exchange. In addition to his industry involvement, Jim is also committed to giving back and serving his community. He currently serves as a member of the South Columbia Development Corporation board of directors and is a member of the New Beginnings Sunday School class at Shandon United Methodist Church.
